This was a short lived bank which was formed in 1836 by the merger of the Glasgow Bank Company and the Ship Bank.
The Manager during this period was Robert Findlay of Easthill and the banknotes issued by the Bank were printed by Perkins Bacon.
In 1843 the Glasgow and Ship Bank merged into the Glasgow Union Banking Company with this bank subsequently adopting the titel the Union Bank of Scotland in 1843.
